Everything is closed today. Banks, post office, most of my carriers (remember, life insurance) and schools. This means my bills didn’t get mailed, I can’t deposit anything, and Meaghan is home. Oh, and my Mom (with the broken ancle) is home. Me? I’m at work.

I found out this morning my little nephew, who will be 2 in March, has pneumonia. Poor thing had a fever of 104 that they couldn’t get down. He goes back to the doc tomorrow. Please keep him in your thoughts!

I bought two new domains. http://thedollhouseblog.com and http://dollhouseblog.com. The name of the blog will simply be The Dollhouse Blog. They will be pointing to the same thing, but I bought the second just in case someone mistypes the URL, as according to Lori’s advice on Blogging with Cents on how to buy a domain name. I am going to be writing about my dollhouse adventures there. I got all excited about it over the weekend. I even wrote one post there. I also searched out some dollhouse/miniature websites from a magazine I was reading online, but they are places to buy stuff, no how-tos which is what I need.

I weighed 163 this morning. I gained only 1.5 pounds over the weekend. I am pretty sure I can get down to 160 by Friday. I am trying something new. I have been drinking my water flavored with Crystal Light (wal-mart brand) but South Beach Diet has a drink mix now with protein and fiber added. It’s called Tide Me Over and is supposed to help you feel full. Well, it tastes okay, but I guess I need to actually drink more than one sip an hour for it to work, huh?

Okay, here goes…glug glug glug…ah. Ech! It’s a bit gritty! I’ll let you know how it works.

I’ve had two old friends e-mail me this last week and I haven’t written them back. Does that make me a bad friend? I am bad about writing these days. Yes, I want to hear from people, but I guess I’m not into sharing these days.

My husband and I and I came up with a great idea for us to make money while watching the Barrett Jackson auctions this weekend. If you aren’t familier, it is THE car auction. Alice Cooper designs, has people build, and sells cars there. This year he sold a custom 1955 Mercedes Benz 300SL for $185,000.00. It was, as kids these days say, tight. I even saw the new 2008 Dodge Challenger. OMG! That is SO going to be my next car. If you don’t know, it’s the same kind of car as the General Lee, and if you don’t know THAT car you are too young to be reading my blog!

Here is a pic of it (I want it in black or silver):

But it appears that I am digressing.

The idea we have is to buy cars at auctions for really cheap. He can fix what is wrong with them and I can clean it up really well and then we sell it for profit. We’re gonna flip cars instead of houses! In fact I talked to him this morning and he has already found a truck he is going to go look at and see if it will be worth flipping. One of the guys he works with’s BIL has a truck he wants to sell for $300.

I really hope this works out!

You’re into doll-houses too? What kind? The kit or pre-made? I have one sitting in front of the window here in my living room that was put together from a kit- a man who was going through physical therapy when my mom worked at the nursing home put it together. I just need to decorate/carpet the inside- but man the furniture is expensive!

    Beth,

I just started and I have no idea!! I will probably work with just room displays for now, less expense in case it turns out I really don’t have a knack for it. Check out my new blog, The Dollhouse Blog, to follow me while I figure this out!

The car we have, a taurus, hubby got for $400, cause it had something major wrong with it. One weekend, another $120 for parts, and a lot of sweat on his part, and he’s been driving it for 3 years now. If we had the money to flip cars, we’d do it too. Good luck!

    Jenn,

We are planning to use our tax return money to get started and since he works part time at a parts store we can get parts CHEAP! We are so excited about getting started. Thanks for the luck.

Thanks for the luck and grats.

My best tip for losing weight, cut out all sodas (even diet) and drink the 64 oz of water. It really does help. Oh, and always try to leave a little on your plate.

I’m off to check out your blog!
