I went to the eye doctor this week. It was time for my yearly exam. I had Lasik three years ago, but I have to keep getting my eyes examined each year so that if I need more work done on my eyes there is a history for them to work with. It’s my end of maintaining the warranty. LOL. Anyway, I have dry eye syndrome. My eyes don’t close all the way, they didn’t even when I was a kid but it didn’t cause any problems until I had the Lasik. The problem is that the tears in my eyes are evaporating within 2-3 seconds where the norm is about 10 seconds. I’ve been on mild steroid eye drops for the last year or more, but they want to wean me off of them. There are some bad side effects of using steroid eye drops too long. So starting next month I am to switch to one day a week to using an over the counter eye drop. Then the next month two days a week, and so on. I’ll actually be glad to be off the percription drops, the over the counter drops are WAY cheaper.
